Abstract:
Tungsten trioxide (WO₃) is a versatile oxide material with tunable electrical and optical properties influenced by structure, defects, and processing. This presentation highlights the key phases, thin-film fabrication methods, electrochromic behavior, and the role of doping and annealing in enhancing performance. Current challenges and future opportunities for WO₃-based smart and sensing technologies are also briefly discussed.
Biography:
Hawazen Al-Thagafi is a lecturer at Umm Al-Qura University, where she also earned her master’s degree. She specializes in the experimental study of condensed-matter materials, particularly thin films and nanomaterials, and their applications in photovoltaic devices, gas sensors, and other advanced material technologies. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Physics at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
All faculty, researchers and students are invited to attend.
