Abstract:
Over the past decade, 2D semiconducting materials, with their distinctive structure and unique physicochemical properties, have drawn much attention due to their potential applications in photonics and optoelectronics. Time-resolved femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy is a powerful all-optical and non-destructive method to study carrier dynamics and elastic properties in frail 2D crystalline materials. In this talk, the physical principle, system design, and application of time-resolved femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy in 2D crystals will be presented. Latest results on the carrier dynamics and acoustic speed in GeS and GaS crystals will also be discussed and related to stimulated Brillouin scattering.
